Hope McNamara

Singing, Voice and Performance Coaching

Hope teaches singers, actors, and professional voice users of all levels and abilities.

She is an Estill Master Trainer and believes EVERYONE has a beautiful voice!

Her Estill mentor is Anne-Marie Speed of The Voice Explained.

Currently, Hope is a singing tutor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London and lectures in singing on the Acting BA at the University of Northampton.

In Oxford, where she is based, she is a singing teacher and drama practitioner at St. Clare’s International IB College.

Hope is a graduate of the Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music. She worked successfully for a number of years onstage (in the UK and at sea) and then broadened her acting experience by training in Meisner at The Actor's Temple.

Whilst working in London, Hope played the role of Young Heidi in Follies at the Landor Theatre and sang backing vocals onstage and off in the 2004 Royal Variety Show. She also features as part of the chorus in the film version of The Magic Flute, directed by Kenneth Branagh.


In Oxford, Hope works regularly with Nia Williams and Matt Winkworth, performing in and workshopping their new musical theatre work. She recently played the role of the cousin in Nia Williams' 2019 run of Verity at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.


Originally from Canada, Hope completed her degree in Music (specialising in classical voice performance) at the University of Western Ontario. She began her professional career at the age of 17, playing the role of Young Belle in A Christmas Carol at The Grand Theatre in London, Ontario. She then went on to act, sing and dance on many stages in Ontario including Huron Country Playhouse, Drayton Festival Theatre, The Jane Mallet Theatre - Toronto, The Second City - Toronto and at Canada's Wonderland.


Hope is a member of Equity UK, the British Voice Association and the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
