
HOPE McNAMARA SEAR
Voice

Hope McNamara Sear teachers singers, actors and professional voice users of all levels and abilities.
Based in Oxford, she is the singing teacher for the Cathedral Choristers at Christ Church and is the Vocal Coach/Music Director for Stepping Stone Performing Arts. She also teaches singing at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
After graduating from the Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music, she worked successfully for a number of years onstage (in the UK and at sea) and then broadened her acting experience by training in Meisner at The Actor's Temple.
Whilst working in London, Hope played the role of Young Heidi in Follies at the Landor Theatre and sang backing vocals onstage and off in the 2004 Royal Variety Show. She also features as part of the chorus in the film version of The Magic Flute, directed by Kenneth Branagh.
In Oxford, Hope works regularly with Nia Williams and Matt Winkworth, performing in and workshopping their new musical theatre work.
Originally from Canada, Hope completed her degree in Music (specialising in classical voice performance) at the University of Western Ontario. She began her professional stage career at the age of 17, playing the role of Young Belle in A Christmas Carol at The Grand Theatre in London, Ontario. She then went on to act, sing and dance on many stages in Ontario including Huron Country Playhouse, Drayton Festival Theatre, The Jane Mallet Theatre - Toronto, The Second City - Toronto and at Canada's Wonderland.
